Barry managed Errol Flynn for 10 years and produced/directed a number of features. He also founded The Production Machine, which was the first company in the world to use personal computers to budget and production-manage feature motion pictures. He wrote the first programs on budgeting and script breakdown which are common today. Barry was instrumental in securing the life-story and autobiography of the late Errol Flynn, My Wicked, Wicked Ways, for production as a CBS movie of the week (which his daughter, Doris Keating, produced). Incorporated and reorganized Matrixx Productions as production division of MEC as well as restructured company's various other divisions for commerce on the World Wide Web starting in 1996. Among the divisions established were the first on-line "ebook" store (Movie Pubs), the first Internet movie distribution company (MID, which acquires and distributes movies as video-on-demand through the Home Video Network, Pay-per-view.com and IndependentProduction.TV), the first on-line script acquisitions, development and sales company (dNa DevelopMent) and the first on-line film school (Lee Garmes Cinema Institute). o Computer Technician and Management Consultant involved with the capitalization of a high tech finance company through several Reg D private placements, an IPO and a private placement of warrants. Company was successful in capitalizing with over $15 million and is currently a publicly-traded company listed on the NASDAQ Bulletin Board (Common: USTT). Experience in most phases of equity finance, promotion, state and federal securities regulations, business affairs. Established initial computer systems and worked in corporate marketing divisions with top-management designing press releases, motion picture marketing materials and various publications for broker/dealers. Wrote and worked with marketing and finance executives to create the initial business plans of the company as such related to the development of the first "small-sum transactions" for credit and debit cards. Aided in the recruitment of executives (sales, technical, management), one key board member and several broker-dealers for the company. (1991-94)

o Producer/Director for feature, OVEREXPOSED, a romantic-drama starring Monique Gabrielle (BACHELOR PARTY), Marty Korse and Andrew Cofrin (YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS). As producer, was responsible for all facets of financing, script development, production, arranging for a composer and music rights and negotiating and arranging distribution. As director was responsible for the casting, directing talent and crew and spotting music cues. Also supervised all aspects of post production, as well as preparation of materials for foreign versions. Picture sold by Intercontinental Releasing Corporation at AFM, Cannes and MIFED and released in various territories. (1984-85)

o Producer/Director/Writer feature project in development, HIGH-TECH HIGH. Responsibilities included director input for story and script development with Peter Myers and producer, Andrew Cofrin. Negotiated and arranged development financing as well as contracts for writer and turnaround agreements. Experience arbitrating MPAA Title Registrations.
o Producer/Director for THE PICKUP starring Andrew Cofrin, Deborah Moore and Tom Connor written by Peter D. Myers. Responsible for all facets of production and post production. Aired on Group W television twice. Directed NABET configured crew for eight days of principal photography. Utilized one of the first computerized production breakdown sheets and production boards (created by Jackson B. Mahon) to generate shooting schedules. (1982-83)

o Line Producer/Director for variety show at the Shrine Auditorium starring Tom Jones, Paul Williams and Gregory Peck; Produced by Jack Williams. Responsibilities included hiring and directing 3-camera film crew. (1982)

o Founder Matrixx Productions (a small production company providing films and videos of various scope) on 14 August 1981. Responsibilities, other than setting up the initial company goals and policies, included market research, raising money, developing projects, casting and purchasing TV air time.
o Producer/Director for two 60-second television commercials on air ionization as first projects.
o Line Producer/Director for the following live multiple-camera shows airing on Group W: HANDEL'S MESSIAH, CAN HUMANS KNOW?, THE UNIVERSES IN WHICH WE LIVE and two shows for ASHO. Responsible for hiring and supervising 15-man production staff and crew. Directed the above live shows with NABET-configured television crew and supervised post production. (1981-82)

o Video Tape Editor for ESPN pilot entitled, SKI WORLD MAGAZINE. Responsible for editing and completing post production for show at Tri Tronics, Burbank, CA. Familiar with Sony 5850/RM440 3/4-inch video editing system as well as all aspects of 1-inch editing and sweetening.

BRILLIANT FILMS, Crossroads of the World, 6715 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA
o Assistant to the Producer/Staff member in the office of the Executive Producer, Randy Eaton and Max Youngstein (1951-62: General VP & Partner at United Artists, FAIL SAFE, extensive other credits).
Responsibilities included reading literary properties and doing coverage. Held story conferences with writers, actors and producers (such as Paul Haggis, Jeffrey Lewis), did market research and worked on various feature projects (including development of REVOLT IN THE STARS, based on an original screenplay by L. Ron Hubbard).
o HCO Expeditor. Responsibilities included "gofering" and other general office administrative duties.
o Bookkeeper. Assisted the Treasurer in journalizing and posting entries, preparing for outside audits, cost analysis and filing.
o Assisted the Executive Producer in raising money and working with Finders.
o Co-founder of Premier Ticket (later renamed American Premier Magazine and sold). (1979)

o Assistant Editor for 35mm feature, TEN VIOLENT WOMEN, produced and directed by Ted V. Mikels. Also edited a small part of the feature. (1978-79)
o Filled in as Gaffer for several days on TEN VIOLENT WOMEN, also played bit part.

o Film Editor for 16mm promotional film, HAPPINESS IN GOOD HEALTH, produced by Lee Garmes & E. Jan Roberts. Film starred Mike Torrez, Gayle Sayers, Floyd Bannister, Greg Minton, Steve Ontiveros, J.D. Hill, Steve Holden, Prentice McCray, Enos Cabell and Nolan Ryan.
o Head of Development/Executive Assistant to Lee Garmes. Assisted Mr. Garmes in the structuring and capitalization of Academy Artists, Inc. with intent to go public with an initial capitalization of $15,000,000. Researched off-line editing facilities and equipment. Responsible for scouting for office real estate to set up operations and post production facilities in Santa Monica. Project suspended due to Lee Garmes' death. (1978)

CALENDAR CORPORATION, Sunset-Gower Studios, Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA
o Set Carpenter. First position with Calendar Corp. Duties included set construction and rehabilitation of a western town at Paramount Ranch. Also fixed and maintained a portion of the inter-office phone system around the sets.
o Best Boy/Still Photographer. Best Boy duties included assisting the Gaffer in making cable runs, tie-ins and adjusting lights under Director of Photography, Michael Mileham.
o Photographer responsibilities involved shooting 4 x 5 color transparency publicity stills for the producers.
o Director/Cameraman Documentary Video. Promoted to work for the Executive Producer, Terry Fraze, shooting 3/4-inch video documentary of the making of SHAME, SHAME ON THE BIXBY BOYS, starring Monty Markham, Don Redberry; Produced by Chris Pearce and Lee Garmes; written by William Bowers (SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF). (1977)

NFL FILMS, Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA
o Panel Printer/Photometer Technician. Responsibilities included printing CRIs, answer prints and release prints of all the National Football League games for the season of 1976. Also handled print color quality control with a photometer. Worked for Morris Kellman, Lab Manager and Jon Bell under Ed Sabol, Owner. (1976)

FERNFIELD FILMS, INC., Russell Road, Berwyn, PA
o Free Lance Sports Cameraman. Operated camera for about fifteen high school and college football and soccer games in the Philadelphia area, including the US-Mexican Olympic Soccer game of 1974. Limited experience in aerial photography.
o Motion Picture Lab Manager. Promoted to work directly for the company after free-lancing as a cameraman. Designed, constructed and operated an ME-4/ECO 16mm motion picture film processing lab. Responsibilities included all technical aspects of motion picture film processing, prepping, handling, printing, timing, chemical analysis, color correction and quality control. Reported to the President, Don MacClemmy. (1974-75)

o Negative Prep Technician. Prepared 16mm film for printing, synching and coding. (1974)

THE GREAT EXPOSURE, Pier 1, Seattle, WA
o Photographer/Studio Manager. Managed a very busy photographic studio as head photographer for selected portrait, commercial, wedding and musician clients, including CHEAP TRICK. Responsibilities included setting up shots & composition, operating camera & lights and supervising all aspects of laboratory procedure. Also handled point-of-sale, retail and light bookkeeping duties. (1974)

MUSIC FAIR GROUP, INC., 176 Swedesford Road, Devon, PA
o Show Technician/Carpenter for the Valley Forge Music Fair (part of the New York Guber & Gross theater chain, largest theater-in-the-round in the U.S.), under Steve Arnold. Built and painted sets, set up stages, ice skating rinks, ran props, chauffeured and assisted stars and road managers. Worked twelve shows including THE SONNY & CHER SHOW, THE CARPENTERS, THE PEGGY FLEMMING SHOW, THE DAVID BRENNER SHOW, MY FAIR LADY and ROTHSCHILDS. (1973)

o Musician/Band Manager. Co-Founded three local Philadelphia bands, (THE NIGHT WATCHMEN, HARVEY and GLASS) and played electric bass in each. GLASS (co-founded with David Bird, composer/arranger and band leader), received a recording contract from music producer/arranger, Tommy Sellers (of John Madera Enterprises, Ltd.), who was producing and arranging WHOLE OATS (Daryl Hall and John Oats) at the same time.
o Co-Founder (with David Bird and Lynn Marzuli) of DOCTOR TRUE'S MAGIC ELIXIR & BITTER WIND TRAVELING SHOW.
o Bassist for THE RED COATS (with Ed Bickford, Lanny Creamer, Mark Lund, Richard Reinert, Bruce Szeiler) and FAT APPLE (with Chris Adams, Louie Lamont, Eric Tate). (1968-73)
o Amateur Filmmaker. Wrote, directed and shot about ten double 8mm and 16mm narrative dramas (ranging from feature-length, EASY SLEEPER, to the animation, SILLY PUTTY & SOBER GRAPE) (1964-68)
o Photographer. Shot, developed and printed thousands of portraits, commercial product photos and still life subjects in 35mm, 2-1/4 x 2-3/4 and 4 x 5. Specialized in black & white lighting, processing and 18" x 24" to 24" x 36" printing. (1959-79)
